Romania Preparations

This trip wouldn't be possible without God's provision through the prayers and support of His people. I really appreciate all of my partners who made this possible. Now, I need your help with prayer. Here's some ideas to pray about:

Personal Health - during preparations on the way to Romania, once I'm there, and on the return.
Right Attitude - towards other Americans, CTL staff, and other's I will encounter
Strength and Discernment - Against spiritual attacks of the devil
Wisdom - with every interaction
Guidance - direction from the Holy Spirit on a daily basis
Open Hearts - of the children and the orphanage staff
Encouragement - the ability to encourage and build relationships with the CTL staff
Provision - for the children
Spiritual Understanding and Growth - for the children

Thank you for your prayers! They will determine the success of my trip! Thank you!

Today I went to church, had lunch with friends, Good Neighbor Church prayed for me, finished packing, talked to a friend, and tied up loose ends. I'll be taking the airport bus at 11am down to LAX tomorrow (Monday June 4th, 2007). My flight with Lufthansa will depart at 4:15 on a direct flight to Munich, Germany. This flight will be

11 Hours and 20 minutes Long!!!

So with the help of some light reading, cramped seats, and hopefully lots of sleep, I will arrive in Munich Tuesday at 12:35pm. Then a 2 hour flight to Bucharest, Romania, where I will be met by the wonderful faces of the Children to Love Staff.

So tonight, I will go to house church and then probably clean the ol' bachelor-pad.

TWO DAYS LEFT UNTIL DEPARTURE!

Wow! I can't believe I'll be leaving for Romania in two days! I've been busy shopping, packing, and saying goodbye to friends. I'll also be leaving my dog Charlie with some friends for the summer. I'm going to miss that guy.

OH! Also-- great news! I've been praying and contacting the manager of Guitar Center about donating a guitar that I could leave in Romania. He wasn't able to donate-- however, I got a great deal on a Yamaha guitar and a ton of gear with it. So, I'll take that, use it in Romania and then leave it for the staff/kids to use. I couldn't have done this without Guitar Center and everyone's support. Thank you!

Six Days Before I leave for Romania!!!

I have been making preparations for my trip to Romania over the past month and now I only have 6 days left until my departure! I'm sooooooo excited! Here's some of the things that have been happening:

1. Raising Support
Around Mid-April 2007, I sent out a flier and letter to almost everyone I knew asking them to join me as financial and praying partners. The cost of my trip was going to be $5,545! This was the first time I had ever trusted God with such a large amount of money. Many people, including myself, were praying for God to work through His people to provide for His work. A week before my deadline (May 15th) I was still only at about 35% of my goal:

2. Car Wash
On May 19th, the Community Church of Life Youth Group sponsored a car wash for my support. We had a great time in the Sun cleaning cars and watching God provide! (See my Flickr set for more pictures!)

3. God Provided!
A day before my deadline, I found out that God had supplied all the money I needed for my financial goal-- plus $1000 more!!! It was incredible. I was so amazed to see how God could provide through His Church. Thank you God!
